What is Bluebird AR?

Bluebird AR is a new way of experiencing drama as it unfolds in real-time across the internet.

You're invited to engage with this drama, either by involving yourself in the events or watching as they unfold - the level of commitment is entirely up to you.

Brilliant young scientist Kyle Vandercamp has been employed by billionaire philanthropist Harrison Wyld to work on Bluebird, a geoengineering research project. Kyle suspects that his research may be used for other means so becomes a whistleblower, turning to the online community to help unlock secret Bluebird project files.

The Story So Far...

May 10

Harrison Wyld's Research folder is opened, revealing a huge array new information - encrypted schematics and photos of balloons. Also, a new meeting video showing a presentation given by Kyle at Bluebird Labs. But it's the end of this meeting that changes everything.

May 07

The first video from Bluebird Lab is located and shows Harrison and Paul seriously contemplating a geoengineering plan beyond mere research and development. Kyle and Monte and members of the DC respond with their reactions. Surveyed locations emerge out of decrypted image files, showing area of the equator, arctic and antarctic. DC members argue that these and the Google Earth files also unlocked, suggest a launch using rockets and balloons has been contemplated.

.::Makers::. interlocking interchangeable tile game adaptation of Cory Doctorow's novel, Makers

I lucked out running into the Toronto Comic Arts Festival on Sunday as we were brunching across the street & look what I found! Idiot Books, Robbi & Matthew up from the US, create amazing playful interactive works - exquisite corpse story books, interactive one-sheets that can only be enjoyed in paper and the tile game above.

As my daughters are home sick, it's a perfect day to start playing with these tiles!

They have a hilarious blog post on driving to Toronto (honestly! we're not always this grey & miserable! come back for another visit)

The Twisperers | ARGNet: Alternate Reality Gaming Network

ARG The Twisperers is 'pervasive social media project' leading up to the publication of a thriller novel, The Whisperers, by John Connolly. A number of characters are tweeting, providing clues to the mysterious goings-on - murders? suicides? The story is a sequel to Every Dead Thing, with PI Charlie Parker (nod to jazz legend?).

I love that Charlie Parker's twitter account is restricted - I'm now waiting for approval

A number of characters have facebook pages:

A local bar-owner, Jimmy Jewel, runs a blog:

It seems to be a continuation of the Earle of Maine ARG that I posted on in Feb. Just checked that twitter feed & the Earle of Maine is commenting on Such Tweet Sorrow - nice integration - how recursive will this become?

And what is it about Maine? It's becoming a hot bed for ARGs - Stephen King's pervasive influence?

OK. I'll play .
